We’re looking for an individual with experience in healthcare pricing, analytics, underwriting or contracts to join our team in Harford, CT or Cypress, CA. The Sr. Healthcare Pricing Consultant will work with regulatory functions in an effort to be up-to-date on small and large-group pricing in the actuarial field. This is an excellent opportunity to bring your actuarial skills to this new and challenging role that would put you on the fast track to success with our Fortune 50 organization. Key responsibilities of the Sr. Healthcare Pricing Consultant include: Setting premium rates for the southwest region of the United States Interacting with representatives from various health plans Presenting results and gathering information on market dynamics Determining the best compromise to remain competitive Setting prices for small and large groups Getting approval for rates from the Department of Insurance Understanding the regulations and how they affect business groups and pricing initiatives Implementing rates into the systemMinimum requirements include: Successful passing of at least three actuarial exams Experience in the healthcare industry in the area of pricing, trending, contracts or underwriting Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications A Bachelor’s degree in a related field The ability to communication technical information in an easily understandable way Candidates who also have one or more of the following will be preferred: Experience in healthcare pricing ASA designation (or in the process of achieving ASA designation) Experience with small business pricing UnitedHealth Group offers a full range of comprehensive benefits to full-time and part-time employees, including medical, dental and vision, as well as a matching 401k and an employee stock purchase plan.
