Sr. IT Director, Enterprise Architecture

Responsibilities:

The Sr. IT Director – Enterprise Architecture is responsible for activities that contribute to planning, creating and implementing an IT architectural vision and strategy aligned with the company’s strategic business plan. Individual focus areas include Architecture Standards, Application Architecture, Data Architecture, Infrastructure Architecture and Business Architecture. Position requires some travel to California, Minneapolis, and Pennsylvania (approximately one week per month). Team size is approximately 30.

 

Provide overall management, technical and financial direction for strategic enterprise IT projects and IT initiatives.

Manage the growth and direction of ITS functional areas.

Assist the CIO in creating an information technology strategy and plan to support business strategies.

Allocate human and financial resources to specific initiatives, as necessary.

Facilitate communication between all key IT groups and the business community.

Create and sustain business literacy and understanding of business process within ITS.

Define and manage to the ITS budget.

Identify best practices throughout the organization, as well as external to the organization, and communicate/implement these practices on an enterprise level.

 

Requirements:

BA or BS, a related technical/business area. Masters degree a strong plus.

Minimum of five years of experience in a senior enterprise architect or role requiring collaboration with business and IT stakeholders to develop a detailed understanding of business community needs, and to assisting in identifying technology roadmaps and targeted solutions consistent with architectural standards and best practices.

Ten plus years of relevant technical and business experience.

Insurance industry experience a strong plus, at minimum financial services industry experience required.

Requires leadership experience in managing cross-functional teams and influencing senior level management and key stakeholders.

Requires demonstrated ability to launch and deliver multiple IT initiatives on time and within budget.
