Job ID: 15061 Posting Title: Sr. Property Underwriter Working Location: Omaha, NE Employment Status: Full-Time Job Summary: In this key role, based in our Omaha, NE business unit headquarters, you will be responsible for various complex and high impact duties within the excess/surplus property section of the home office underwriting function for our Zurich Programs business unit. This position will be viewed as an expert in the high impact area of excess/surplus property underwriting. Working in a team environment, your day-to-day duties will encompass a minimum of three of the following activities:1. Underwrite and Analyze new and renewal excess and surplus property business2. Administer and monitor underwriting rules and guidelines, insurance laws and regulations and rating manuals. 3. Work at the highest authority limits on accounts utilizing the highest degree of technical complexity and coordination4. Market Zurich's products and services through an agency plant or through the brokerage community. 5. Develop/maintain most significant agency and/or broker relationships. 6. Possess a high and extensive level of technical knowledge and skills including product and industry7. Will provide technical guidance, assistance and training to lower level associates. Job Qualifications: Bachelors Degree or equivalent8 or more years of related property underwriting experience.1. Highly advanced knowledge and practice of line/s of business.2. Strong knowledge of underwriting philosophy, techniques, national/local filing regulations and guidelines.3. Ability to effectively assess risk.4. Ability to multi-task.5. Ability to function in a team environment.6. Possess knowledge of time restraints for quotes on new and renewal business.7. PC literate.8. Strong negotiation skills.
