ABOUT THIS OPPORTUNITY

In this role you will develop, maintain, and execute test cases and develop test requirements aimed at finding and resolving defects in the data services environment and database objects (ETL code, stored procedures, and functions).  You will also do Data Analysis on reports and feeds and have the opportunity to mentor and guide fellow team members.

RESPONSIBILITIES

1.  Generates, automates and executes test cases

2.  Partners with various members of the IT and Operations teams to investigate and resolve product defects

3.  Enters and tracks product defects

4.  Partners with various members of the IT and Operations teams to develop test requirements and test suites based on business requirements and workflows

5.  Creates and maintains portions of software testing schedules and provides mentoring and guidance to fellow team members

6.  Other duties and responsibilities as assigned

 

QUALIFICATIONSAssociates degree or 4 years work experience in the insurance or software development industries

· 5 years minimum experience SQL Server 2000

· 5 years minimum experience with Mercury TestDirector

· 5 years minimum ETL tools experience in either datastage or  informatica or abnito

· Writing SQL (proficient)

· ETL - source and target mapping documents

· Stored Procedures and triggers (basic level)

· Analyzing data models and relationships between tables

· Defect tracking experience (ex. PVCS, test director, etc)

· ETL – database joins experience (inner joins, outerjoins)

· ODS – operational data source

· Preferred: 

o  Topical insurance industry knowledge

o  Software Quality Assurance certifications such as CSQA

o  Unix environment preferred

o  Experience using Borland SilkTest a plus
