Staff Accountant

Established annuity and insurance company seeks a reliable and ambitious candidate for a staff accountant position. The candidate will be expected to perform with high efficiency in a deadline oriented environment.



Responsibilities will include:Maintaining GL chart of accounts Account analysis and reconciliation, including bank statements and intercompany GL accounts Initial internal control evaluations Posting monthly, quarterly, annual accruals Assist management in making strategic decisions Participate in the coordination, creation and streamlining of processes. Investigate and resolve open items. Efficiently complete major portions of the month-end close process Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly and year-end financial statements Analyze and communicate variances of period vs. period and actual vs. budget. Prepare work papers and schedules in logical formats that are easy to review and tie out Knowledge of GAAP

 


Requirements:Bachelor’s degree in accounting 1-3 years of experience
