Streamline/Endorsement Underwriting Associate

Currently, Chubb is expanding its Commercial Underwriting operations to conduct renewal underwriting in one of two centers. This operation is located in our Phoenix, AZ office. We are looking to add NUMEROUS associates to the Underwriting Center in both our Streamline and Endorsement Underwriting Areas:

Both of these underwriting positions contribute to the achievement of the department's goals as well as corporate goals relating to growth, profit, renewal retention, service and producer/client management. They share the same path, but vary in degrees of emphasis and scope.

Main Responsibilities:
*Analyzes account-specific information (including but not limited to loss control reports) and prepares risk reports
*Lines of business may include property, boiler and machinery, inland marine and ocean cargo, liability, auto, workers' compensation, umbrella TIS related risks
*Develops information and recommendations, based on the account analysis that will be used as the basis for the renewal strategy
*Determines pricing strategy
*Reviews submission information, coordinates with the CSR, and completes the risk report
*Negotiates renewal premiums with the agent.
*Completes all issuance instructions including appropriate forms, coverage and final premium.
*Ensures electronic file integrity.
*Includes underwriting authority.
*Timely adherence to workflow and business rules
*Timely responses to producer inquiries relative to endorsement and service inquiries
*Gather/analyze change requests, general service inquiries and endorsement requests emanating from the producers requests
*Adhere to jurisdictional compliance documentation standards and ensure all underwriting documentation is complete


Skills and Competencies:
*Candidate must have proven ability to successfully negotiate.
*A strong track record of service orientation is required.
*Knowledge of marketing principles, underwriting and pricing strategies.
*The aptitude to retain profitable business is essential.
*A solid background in business
*Candidates must have strong interpersonal and written communication skills, as well as mathematical aptitude
*The ability to work independently and cohesively in a team environment.
*The ability to work effectively in a fast paced environment is crucial.
*Demonstrate strong business acumen and critical thinking skills which lead to confident decision making and judgment abilities
*Ability to meet or exceed established performance standards
*Ability to prioritize work and perform within time constraints
*The ideal candidate must have basic PC navigation skills including knowledge of *Windows operation systems, Lotus Notes, and the Internet


Education and Experience:
*High School Diploma or equivalent. Some college and/or 2-5+ years related experience preferred.
