Position Description:

 

The FMO Suitability officer will reside in the FMO and will be responsible to develop and maintain an appropriate environment of awareness as to the importance of suitability and consumer advocacy in all aspects of the FMO’s business environment.  This would include training, advertising, branding, web-sites, problem resolution, and agent relationships. 

 

Job functions:

 

Suitability Awareness:

To develop and maintain an appropriate environment of awareness as to the importance of suitability and consumer advocacy in all aspects of the FMOs business environment. This would include training, advertising, branding, web-sites, problem resolution, and agent relationships.

 

Suitability Review:

To manage the implementation of a process to perform direct suitability review functions under the supervision and review of AZL Suitability. 

 

Compliance Conduit (Fixed)/Registered Principal (Questar):

Serves as a conduit to ensure that compliance issues are identified and communicated to AZL Conmpliance as appropriate.  Assists the FMO President in ensuring that appropriate policies and procedures are in place and functioning effectively to facilitate compliance with both the FMO’s and AZL’s compliance policies and procedures.

 

Within this role, the position may also function as a registered principal within the OSJ, performing such functions as assigned by Questar to ensure appropriate compliance with the policies and procedures for the branch office/OSJ.

 

Qualifications:

 Minimum 5-7 years industry experience (10 years preferred).At least 2 years of compliance/suitability experience in insurance/broker-dealerStrong negotiation/interpersonal skills.Four year college degree Series 7/24Insurance licensing (preferred)
