TIS Life Science Underwriter

This position supports the achievement of the regional sales and production branch objectives and Chubb Commercial Insurance underwriting goals related to profit, customer service, and producer relationships.

Main responsibilities include:
*Underwrite and negotiate renewals and endorsements on a total commercial lines portfolio of $4M to $6M in Life Science and Technology business.
*Lines of business include commercial package, automobile, umbrella, international, and workers compensation for Life Sciences and Technology business.
*Manage 500 to 700 policies related to 150-200 accounts.
*Achieve favorable retention within an assigned territory.
*Underwriting duties will include account rounding.
*Marketing and servicing accounts based on Chubb guidelines.
*Develop strong relationships with independent agents and brokers in order to successfully manage our business which may require travel to producer locations.

Skills and Competencies:
*Candidate must have proven ability to successfully negotiate on all levels and develop producer relations.
*A strong track record of service orientation is required.
*Knowledge marketing principles, underwriting and pricing strategies.
*The aptitude to attract and retain profitable business is essential.
*A solid background in risk analysis is essential.
*Candidate must have strong interpersonal and written communication skills.
*The ability to work independently and cohesively in a team environment in conjunction with service staff, loss control, field marketing underwriters, and branch employees is essential.
*The ability to work effectively in a fast paced environment is crucial.

Education and Experience:
*Two to five years of multi-line underwriting experience is required.
*Life Science or Technology Underwriting experience is a plus.
*Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent work experience
