Our Global Retirement Service Centers allow us to efficiently provide our public and private sector clients with detailed financial calculations and analysis such as retirement valuation work, data and benefit calculations and other regulatory and tax compliance related services. The Milwaukee Outsourcing Center provides services to our clients’ defined benefit plans including benefit calculations, data maintenance and interacting with the clients’ employees and retires. A Technical Analyst is responsible for leading client teams, providing primary support for Managers of new client implementations, providing guidance and basic supervision of pension analysts. To fulfill this role the Technical Analyst will:Provide guidance and training to pension analysts Provide final review for all types of calculations and special projects Able to assist in translating client deliverables into business requirements Responsible for all client deliverables and adherence to RSC and legal procedures and standards Manage relationship with Mercer actuarial staff and clients to clarify or resolve issues related to deliverables and ensure satisfaction with RSC services Act as a key resource to or leading successful new client implementations through implementing the project work plan and controlling project scopeBA/BS math or finance degree or equivalent industry experience preferred Working knowledge of actuarial concepts and calculation methods, e.g. actuarial factors and commutation functions Good knowledge of the IRS code and DOL rules and regulations as they apply to defined benefit plans and procedures including: 401(a)(17), 415(b), 417(e), Relative Value and RASD Familiar with different types of defined benefit plans including: Cash Balance, Rate x Service, Final Average Earnings, Pension Equity and Social Security Offset Superior teamwork skills Excellent analytical and mathematical skills Intermediate to advanced skills in Microsoft Office, general Excel and Access programming a plus 5 plus years of advanced Defined Benefit experience and/or experience automating solutions for pension benefit calculations Ability to organize and write pension documentation manuals is required Strong client relationship and consulting skills Excellent oral and written communication skills Excellent interpersonal skills Possess leadership experience and must work well in a team environment Actuarial, CEBS certifications or other advanced degrees are desirable
