Trial Attorney, Level III Position Description:Safeco's Philadelphia Staff Counsel office is seeking experienced Philadelphia/New Jersey area trial attorney candidates to handle all aspects of insurance defense litigation in eastern Pennsylvania and New Jersey.This position requires demonstrated experience trying personal injury, intentional tort, wrongful death, defamation, products liability, bad faith, errors and omissions and workers compensation matters. Admission to practice in good standing in Pennsylvania AND New Jersey is required. Applicants must be proficient in use of the PC including Microsoft Word and Outlook software as correspondence will not be dictated. This self-starter will represent the company and insured's in all phases of litigation, practicing law in compliance with ethical standards as established by state law. Responsibilities include all aspects of case handling including but not limited to legal research, motion practice, discovery, depositions, settlement conferences, arbitration, ADR and trial. At least seven years of trial and insurance defense experience required. This individual should possess demonstrated case analysis abilities, a track record of proven case resolution skills and excellent PC, resource management, customer service, communication and teamwork skills. Also, must be knowledgeable in insurance coverage and conflict issues.
