Underwriting Assistant - Rater

We are a major Insurance Wholesaler with 30 years in the industry.  Our home office, located in western Nassau County, is looking for the right candidate to fill the position of rater/underwriting assistant.  Applicants should possess 2-3 years of insurance experience - with rating experience a plus. 

Job Purpose:

Serves customers by completing policies and endorsements; completing cancellations.

Duties:

* Prepares work to be processed by gathering, sorting, organizing, and recording data, information, and documents.

* Completes policies, endorsements, and cancellations by rating and coding risks; reviewing and correcting rates, forms, and premiums.

* Inputs business data by verifying and entering data; resolving processing problems.

* Provides business information and resolves problems by accommodating agents' inquiries and concerns.

* Maintains customer confidence by keeping service information confidential.

* Maintains continuity of work operations by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.

* Enhances rating/underwriting and company reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
