Description:RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Ensures that policy transactions are issued and changes are recorded accurately and in a timely manner by rating and/or entering transactions for commercial lines of business. Such transactions may be quotes, new business, endorsements, cancellations or renewals. 2. Screens transactions to determine proper processing. Refers to underwriters those transactions that require their attention; completes transactions directly if within delegated authority limits. 3. Provides timely and professional customer service to agents to facilitate the processing of business. Communicates as needed with agents to obtain information needed to complete screening and transactions, etc. Contributes to effective marketing of the Company products by answering agent questions, resolve agent problems on topics such as policy status, billing, etc, and explaining new or revised products and processes. 4. Orders and screens miscellaneous reports needed in the rating and underwriting processes, such as Motor Vehicle Reports, loss history reports, credit checks, outside inspections, loss control, etc. 5. Provides administrative and general clerical support as needed to assure efficient operation of the underwriting team.Qualifications:EDUCATION: High School diploma or equivalent EXPERIENCE: 2-3 years of experience at the Associate Underwriter, Entry level. Technical competence in the underwriting/rating systems. Rating and entry expertise in commercial lines of business. In-depth knowledge in all lines of business of underwriting guidelines for the transactions within authority limit (renewals, endorsements, cancellations, etc.).
