Unix Administrator SUN Veritas

*** 3 month Contract to Hire***

Great Fortune 500 Company, located in the northern suburbs of Chicago, is currently seeking a Unix Sun Administrator with Veritas experience. Candidate will provide Sun Solaris support by providing Unix hardware/software installation/maintenance/configuration/problem determination and resolution support. Work with application development teams providing technical expertise, support, and guidance. Test hardware and software compatibility with UNIX operating systems. Prepare thorough documentation of installation procedures, problem determination and resolution. This individual will also be part of the 24x7 on-site/pager support systems. Must possess solid analytical, problem solving, and written and oral communication skills. Exposure to Oracle is also desirable.

The individual will be responsible for

1. Providing Unix Solaris engineering support by providing hardware/software installation/maintenance/configuration/problem determination and resolution support.
2. Partnering with Business Clients to address business needs with infrastructure solutions.
3. Diagnose problems within complex Unix environments.
4. Creating technical documentation and overviews.

Qualifications

The skills required are:
- Solaris 8,9,10; container use and ZFS not necessary
- Veritas Clustering, Veritas Volume Manager
