Unix Systems Administrator

Modis is seeking an experienced Unix System Administrator for a full-time permanent position with our client located in Chevy Chase, MD.  The max salary for this position is 90k per year plus generous profit-sharing (in the past couple years it has been 20-25%).  The Unix Adminstrator would be responsible for 70-80 servers and should have a strong background in Solaris (required) and Suse Linux (desired).  Candidate will be required to build, configure, performance tune, troubleshoot the Unix environments. This is a 24x7 environment so candidate would be required to wear a beeper and work weekends at times. Candidate must also have the capacity to write standard operating procedures. Ideal candidate will have experience building Unix environment from the ground up. Required: *Minimum of 5+ years of Linux SUSE Systems experience. AIX and Solaris Systems experience required. *Must be able to diagnose and resolve complex systems problems. *Experience in installing and configuring UNIX hardware and software components. *Experience with NIS, NFS, TCP/IP, PSSP and Kerberos. *Experience with IBM and EMC disk storage controllers technology and Brocade Switches a plus. *Ability to develop and debug Shell scripts. *Must have excellent analytical, problem solving, tuning and technical skills along with excellent oral & written communication skills. *Good project management skills required. *Good work ethics, attention to details and good team work required. **Email resume to linda.hakkarinen@modisit.com Company: Modis, Inc.
