Vendor Specialist

The Enterprise Services Department is looking for a qualified individual to fill their opening for a Vendor Specialist in the newly formed Vendor Services Unit.  Responsibilities include partnering with business units to ensure vendor relationships are entered into and managed using a consistent set of principles and standards. If you are a team player who can also work well independently and have excellent written and verbal communication skills, this could be the role for you. 

The successful candidate will have the following qualifications:Excellent analytical skills and a high degree of self motivation.  Strong attention to detail, be very organized and have solid communication skills.  Demonstrate the ability to handle multiple prioritiesStrong and time management skillsAbility to organize work and meet deadlinesStrong Excel experience is required and MS Access experience is a plus.  Must type a minimum of 25 wpm.

Primary responsibilities of the Vendor Specialist: This position serves the department’s framework for managing third party vendor relationshipsOrganize vendor selection and relationship workflowMaintain vendor bid, contract, performance and evaluation recordsBuild and maintain existing vendor relationshipsSupport Enterprise Service project managers to add value to their projects through vendor involvement.  Consult with business units on vendor selection process and performance monitoringPerforms appropriate due diligence on vendors according to the risk of the transaction and relationshipCoordinate relationships with vendors and sourcing teamsEnsuring that strong measurement and monitoring processes exist to enable the identification and management of priority issues.Ensuring that both internal and external vendors/third parties are delivering according to their contractual obligations and are supporting the businesses overall strategy.Delivery of appropriate and timely supplier performance management information.Work with procurement teams to secure new suppliers and represent the business requirements during invitation to tender and contract negotiation stages.
