The purpose of this position is to investigate, negotiate and conclude by settlement or denial assigned claims through telephone, personal contact, and/or written correspondence. These duties are performed consistent with company claims' policies and procedures, prescribed authority and standards of performance. Description of Position: • Receives assigned claims, verifies coverage and determines course of action. • Establishes initial reserves and sets up claims file for automated claims system. • Investigates claims through telephone and written correspondence with attorneys, witnesses and others having pertinent information. • Handles incoming calls and correspondence from insureds, claimants and agents regarding questions or problems associated with claims. • Analyzes information obtained through investigation in order to evaluate claims. • Determines extent of liability for third party action taking into consideration contributory or comparative negligence. • Ensures compliance with company, state, and federal regulations. • Manages medical treatment on pending claims with medical providers, claimants and insureds Qualifications (Skills) Required: • Excellent data entry and PC skills with a proficiency in Microsoft Office applications • Strong customer service orientation • Superior communication skills • Proven ability to work successfully with normal management oversight Preferred: MD Worker's Compensation experience If interested, please apply online at http://track.jobviper.com/ViewJob.asp?id=514299-3-73
