Reporting to the Director of Package Pricing and Air Inventory Management, the incumbent will work on both an operational and project-by-project basis with people across all of the Expedia, Inc. businesses. Typical duties include advising senior management on air and vacation package supply-side and demand-side issues, provide quantitative analysis and decision support for strategic partnerships, and interfacing with suppliers to identify opportunities to maximize value for both Air Suppliers and Expedia.Responsibilities:• Lead analysis and formulate policies and procedures that achieve business goals for Merchant Air and Vacation Package businesses• Provide analytical and strategic support to various lines of business, points of sale, and internal stakeholders• Develop pricing strategies based on robust economic, financial and statistical analysis• Deliver recommendations by defining frameworks and structuring analysis• Actively monitor and report pricing and product performance and make strategic recommendations for improvement• Proactively communicate factors affecting pricing and competitive performance to senior management• Partner with Product Development to deliver the next generation of air inventory technology• Be aware of trends and competitive best practices and communicate throughout the organizationQualifications: • Advanced degree in Business or related field preferred• Four or more years experience in an analytical role, ideally in the airline/travel industry • Demonstrated ability to develop analytical frameworks for complex business issues, deals, financial analysis and statistical studies• Superior problem-solving skills, self-motivation and the capacity to work under pressure and tight deadlines• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to clearly present issues, ideas and recommendations in verbal, written and presentation formats – both to internal and external audiences• Knowledge of Travel/Air pricing and distribution (GDS/CRS’s, ATPCO, etc) preferred• Strong Microsoft Office experience.
