This position reports directly to the Manager of Corporate Governance. This position is responsible for reviewing and analyzing company operations, evaluating internal controls and procedures, and formulating audit findings and management recommendations, especially around Sarbanes-Oxley controls.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
-Conduct audit fieldwork, testing accounting and operational policies and procedures and the related internal controls, and special reviews.
-Assist in process to ensure company compliance with newly enacted corporate governance guidelines and laws.
-Keeps abreast of emerging trends and best practices within industry.
-Communicates audit findings to management (oral and written).
-Minimum of 3-5 years of internal or external auditing experience, or a combination of both, including a detailed understanding of audit procedures. Knowledgeable of GAAP and Sarbanes Oxley 404 Compliance a requirement.
-Must have thorough knowledge of the audit profession; proficient knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles, financial analysis and modeling skills, and financial systems analysis.
-Strong organizational, analytical, and problem solving skills required.
-Must have sufficient technical/computer skills to perform audit activities and document work.
-General knowledge of Solomon Financial experience preferred.
-Must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
-Must be proficient with MS Office.
Must have ability to travel.
Required Education and Experience:
BS/BA in Accounting, Business, Finance, or related field. Professional certification (CPA, CIA, CMA, etc.) or advanced degree required.
