Data Analyst

Position Description:

RealNetworks is looking for an experienced Data Analyst to join our team in a division that offers a unique combination of entertainment products that are unrivaled in the wireless industry. We seek a detail-oriented, critical-thinking, client-facing data analyst for the Product & Service team within the Personalization & Network business unit. This team develops and maintains the RingBack Tone (RBT) product and service for a wireless carrier client. This individual will be a key member of the team and is responsible for the following key areas: 1) Generating intensive statistical data analysis for product and service enhancement and pertinent business planning; 2) Content analysis and report generation; 3) Preparation of settlement and business analysis, including revenue investigation, reporting, projections, and ROI analysis; 4) The creation of statistical presentations, explaining findings and insights, and making recommendations to the client.The analyst will mine and create, analyze, manage, track, and review statistical reports based on user behaviors via a proprietary tool and various databases; in turn present their findings to the client. The analyst will become an expert in user behaviors, product feature usage, and product and service trends. Account settlement duties include basic revenue verification and reporting to management and other parties. The analyst will also be responsible for ROI, projections and other business analysis duties.The ideal candidate should be passionate about data mining, statistical analysis and user behavior trending, and have superior spreadsheet and analytical skills. The candidate must have strong skills in creating presentations and be totally comfortable presenting their finding to clients in a meeting setting. The candidate should have superior time management skills, is a quicker learner, and have an interest in learning new skills, as well as be highly detail-oriented, self-motivated, creative, organized, and have interest in the music and wireless / mobile industries. Responsibilities: o Generating intensive statistical data analysis for product and service enhancement and pertinent business planning• Ownership of product, service and user statistical mining, investigations, generation, analysis, and recommendations• Extensive report development and tracking of statistics on a daily, weekly and monthly basis• Content analysis and report generation, including content sales reports and dissemination to appropriate partieso Creation of statistical presentations, and confidently presenting findings, insights and recommendations to the cliento Settlement and Business Analysis• Preparation of monthly settlement reports and analysis• Revenue investigation, reporting, service projections and ROI analysiso Provides suggestions for the enhancement of the content management and service statistical reporting web-based tool as applicableSkills / Qualifications:o BA/BS degree with a major in business, communications, accounting or other closely related field.o 5-10 years in a business or data analyst role in Internet, software, wireless or closely related field.o Expert knowledge in data analysis concepts, practices, and procedures and experience in statistical investigation and analysis around product and end-users (esp. user behaviors).o Strong experience implementing data into reports and client-facing presentations; communicating results at multi levels & groups.o Expert level in MS Excel, Access, PowerPoint and other related software.o Understanding or experience with UNIX and SQL Commands a plus.o Experience with accounting or settlement, revenue verification, investigation, projecting, reporting, ROI, etc; experience in mobile content settlement a major plus.o Excellent analytical (precise, detailed oriented and organized), team (dependable, positive, self-starter and strong a communicator), interpersonal, and creative problem-solving skills.o Ability to meet deadlines, take the initiative, and work independently or as a part of a team.o Hands-on team player who is able to interact effectively with cross-functional teams. o Interest in wireless sector and new technology.o Basic understanding of Web, WAP, mobile and/or IVR user interfaces a major plus.o Interest in the music industry and music/sound content.o Willingness and enthusiasm to learn new things.RealNetworks, Inc. is proud to offer our full time employees an extensive benefits package; including vacation, medical, dental, vision, 401K, an employee stock purchase program and subsidized commuting options.
