Development Manager

Description:We are seeking a highly motivated individual to manage a dynamic team in the internal workflow tools development organization responsible for delivering high quality global application solutions. As part of a fast paced organization, this position is required to work closely with the various business partners, IT and business analysts groups. The candidate is expected to be a self-starter and team player who can drive the design, implementation, and testing of features and architecture of the tools. Qualifications: • Develop strategies for enhancing and creating tools to support eBay's end-to-end workflow• Estimate engineering effort; plan implementation, and rollout system changes• Work with other engineers/managers, business analysts, business partners and QA to design innovative solutions that meet the tools’ needs with respect to functionality, performance, scalability, reliability, realistic implementation schedules, and adherence to development goals and principles• Communicate product strategy and functionality. Also includes performing industry research to come up with approaches to build a new product or buy product solutions.• Create a "blueprint" that defines the "boundaries" of the tools, so that future changes and enhancements fit within the scope and scalability constraints of the system.• Identify technical solutions to meet users' needs, solve business challenges and make recommendations on project delivery based on available resources and time criteria.• Ensure testing covers the scenarios and needs identified by the business systems analysts.  • Define a set of test data that can be leveraged to fully exercise the tools.• The development, test, and production environments are available to meet end-users' needs• Provides a framework to support product and implementation strategy for features that span tools' boundaries• Provide mentorship to team members in architecture, design, and coding techniques/standards• Proactively identify and resolve resource conflict and set priority for parallel projects• Ensuring on-time, tested product is released based on roadmap priorities• Identify project risks and propose migitation plans• Share Rollout and on-call responsibility with the team• Initiating and fostering relationships with other groups• Develop industry and product technical expertise.Salary/Benefits: Salary commensurate with experienceJob Location: San Jose, CAJob Number: RUSAEBAY7129-594921Company URL: http://www.ebaycareers.com Salary/Benefits: Salary commensurate with experience Job Location:  US-CA-Silicon Valley/San Jose Job Number:  26488BR Company URL:  http://www.ebaycareers.com
