Director - Product Management

The Director of Product Management reports to the Chief Strategy Officer of this well funded venture backed start up in the emerging digital lifestyle management market.  We are a consumer facing company who has effectively created an entirely new market in the B2C space.  This individual will be responsible for driving global product vision & strategy, product specification, and launch planning, for our revolutionary services.

 

The Director of Product Management is responsible for building and leading a world-class team, and will play a central role in defining the key growth opportunities for the company. The ideal candidate will have led product introduction of a disruptive product.  In large part, success in this position will be dependent on these factors: Ability to envision and articulate a long term and innovative product strategy designed to lead in the photo services industry. Ability to understand the technical capabilities of a file sharing environment and work collaboratively with the engineering and operations teams to develop innovative technical solutions in a disruptive fashion. Ability to unearth the unmet needs of consumers through competitive analysis, customer research, user testing, and data analysis.Demonstrated ability to effectively collaborate across a broad organization including engineering, sales, marketing, business development, and international locations to ensure that the company and all business units are functioning optimally in their relationships with current and prospective users and customers. A deep passion for building world-class products and a capacity for creating new markets. Manage P&L(s); lead cross-functional efforts to achieve quantitative targets for usage, conversion, revenue and profit. Develop business cases, market segmentations and product positioning. Conduct market analysis and competitive benchmarking. 

Qualifications:

The Director of Product Management will have frequent interaction with key executives. The successful leader will have the ability to build strong relationships with his/her functional peers, and will be an outstanding communicator capable of articulating a compelling vision for a disruptive product and driving it to successful execution.

 

Key responsibilities: 

Develop objectives and drive overall product strategy which takes into consideration business objectives, competitive landscape, customer needs, and budget constraints. Work collaboratively with the engineering, research and operations team to present a cohesive product strategy and roadmap. Connect the company’s consumer insight with product and service offerings to drive a clear strategy, and lead development of a product plan that balances global and local priorities.  Must deliver on P&L commitments. Analyze the product’s effectiveness based on objective and subjective feedback. Adapt strategy based on feedback to ensure optimal performance.Instill processes and best-practices to foster excellence in execution. Demonstrated experience developing and executing online product marketing strategies, killer apps and intuitive online products or services required; keen knowledge of web standards, design and usability.Self-starter with ability to manage multiple projects in a fast paced, entrepreneurial environment.Strong analytical, business, project management, and organizational skills. Excellent oral and written communications and skills.7-10 years of experience, bachelor from top school required, MBA preferred.
