Director of Business Development

Job Description:

The BD Director will work with consumer health websites and affiliates for the purpose of publishing DestinationRx consumer products.  The BD Director will be responsible for developing and managing a business development pipeline with specific goals and objectives to distribute DestinationRx widgets and embedded technology.  In addition, the BD Director will be responsible for negotiating contracts including terms, and revenue share percentages.  The ideal candidate will have strong background in ecommerce business models, including affiliate programs, and the ability to quickly understand how DestinationRx consumer products will benefit affiliates and partners by providing unique consumer content and valuable revenue opportunities. 

 

Responsibilities:

· Identifies, develops and closes affiliate relationships with health portals and other strategic partners.

· Manages an affiliate business development pipeline with specific goals and objectives.

· Works closely with Consumer Aggregation team to develop growth strategy and tactical plan to accomplish objectives.

· Participates in the business planning of new DestinationRx affiliate products, including widgets and embedded technology. 

· Develops and negotiates business terms and plans, including contracting for complex revenue arrangements and revenue management. 

 

 

Experience and Requirements:

· BA/BS required; MBA desired

· 4 years business development experience, preferably with major internet companies; existing rolodex a plus.

· Experience with a wide variety of contracts, including distribution, licensing, co-marketing, revenue share, advertising, etc.

· Proven ecommerce experience with a strong understanding of affiliate distribution programs.

· Strong communication skills, including verbal, written and presentation.

· Strong networking skills.

· Highly motivated to succeed, strong work ethic, results oriented.

· Experience with healthcare is also a plus. 

· Ability to operate with a high degree of autonomy and professionalism; successfully prioritize workload in accordance with business goals.  

· Must work well in a team, fast-paced, and deadline-driven environment.
