Director of Operations

Summary:  The Experian Interactive Media Director of Operations will be responsible for the overall availability and performance of all EIM systems including the Linux, Unix, AIX, and Oracle environments throughout the enterprise (Development, QA, and Production.)  Responsibilities: Manage service delivery of the Web & Database Operations teams that includes the installation, configuration, tuning, monitoring, and patching of the companies Unix/Linux Servers and Oracle Databases. Work with application engineering, qa, and PMO teams to ensure the success of all production ready application and projects. Ensures that operation-based projects and initiatives are delivered on-time and with exceptional quality. Maximize performance of the team through mentoring and professional development. Establish systems and processes to monitor and optimize database and server performance to meet application performance goals. Oversee the use of database technology including Oracle 10g RAC, MySQL and SQL Server 2000/2005. Oversee the use of technologies for Linux, Apache, JBoss, and Java. Assist in the implementation of Service Improvement Plans within organization (i.e. ITIL v3 and COBIT) Establish server build standards that adhere to security and performance requirements. Manage Operation Projects varying in complexity. Skills: Linux/Unix server administration. Oracle and MS SQL administration. Strong knowledge of enterprise backup, clustering, and high-availability. Strong overall understanding of complex storage technologies (SAN or NAS). Knowledge of Apache and JBoss installation and configurations.
