Personal Summary:
The Specialist/Manager (depending on experience) reports to the CMO. The successful candidate will be a self-starting, motivated team player who will focus on developing and executing registry programs and promotions to support the goals of the business. Teamwork, integrity, strong work ethics, deep listening skills, high-energy, a desire to win, and a passionate personality are valued traits.
Responsibilities/Essential Functions:
This is a new position for Dotster. The core objective is to grow revenue in the company’s largest product line, domain names. Domains are the first step to an online identity and are supplied by top level domain (TLD) registries such as .com, .net, .org, .tv, .info, .mobi, .asia, etc. This person will either have or will quickly develop a close understanding of industry trends, registry product launches, effective promotions/merchandising, consumer buying factors, competitor activity, and internal product development processes. Externally, this person will build strong win-win partnerships with registries. Internally, this person will work closely with the online marketing and sales teams to generate increasing revenues at effective ROI. Key responsibilities include the following:
Establishing a strong relationship with registries (rapport, negotiation, follow through)Identifying what TLDs should be featured on the website (availability, relative prominence, etc.)Developing a schedule of upcoming registry promotions (sunrises/landrushes, discounts/deals, innovative new marketing approaches)Testing and refining domain name promotions to maximize ROI (bundling, discounts, etc.)Building a calendar of co-marketing opportunities (co-funding of media buys, MDF)Understanding what drives the buying decision (individuals, domainers)Sensing opportunities in both primary and secondary markets (new and previously-owned domain names)Ensuring strong project management (launches on schedule, on budget)
The preceding bullets notwithstanding, this is a dynamic industry where marketplace factors—and job responsibilities—are continually subject to change. This person will be flexible and adaptable when new opportunities arise.

Experience:
This fast paced role will lead planning and implementation of marketing programs to grow Dotster’s business. The individual should have experience in product management, partner relationships, co-marketing, and pricing/promotions.
Minimum Qualifications:
· 5-7 years product management/marketing experience in an online / Internet / e-commerce environment
· Demonstrated successful track record, strong current references
· Preference will be given to candidates with experience across all the marketing disciplines above, though it is not required
· Excellent knowledge and extensive use of personal computer applications (MS OFFICE) and Internet related tools
Job Conditions:
Must work independently with limited supervision
Based in Vancouver, Washington; at times travel may be required
Regular communication with team members
