E-Commerce Senior Merchant

 

We are looking for a results oriented individual to drive revenue growth and profitability for the online businesses of two of our premier brands; THE SAK and Elliott Lucca.  In addition to our own e-commerce sites, the Senior Merchant is also responsible for growing affiliate programs with third party sellers and other e-commerce related partnerships. This position will drive the strategic direction of our on-line businesses by working effectively with key internal departments.  Responsibilities include all aspects of site experience, overall merchandising, buying, partner management, pricing, promotion and inventory management.  The E-commerce Senior Merchant reports into our New York office.

 

Responsibilities:

 

·         Responsible for the overall business plan (long and short term) for thesak.com, Elliottlucca.com and other affiliate partners, including annual P&L responsibility.

 

·         Analyze sales data for Thesak.com and Elliottlucca.com and provide in-depth reporting on overall P&L.

 

·         Identify key marketing initiatives that will drive e-commerce sales and brand name recognition on-line.

 

·         Maintain knowledge of current e-commerce selling strategies and success of major competitors.

 

·         Responsible for all merchandising:

 

·         Manage on-line assortments, promotions, price management and overall product presentation.

 

·         Ensure products are communicated effectively on-line to maximize item sales and increase profitability.

 

·         Manage the data integrity of pricing and product information on our e-commerce sites as well as affiliate partners.

 

·         Responsible for the planning, management and execution of weekly email campaigns.

 

·         Review site traffic, conversion, and average selling price daily in order to steer merchandising strategy accordingly.

 

·         Coordinate with THE SAK and Elliott Lucca department store sales executives in order to collaborate on overall merchandising and sales objectives for respective brands.

 

·         Manage and grow third party partnerships (for example, macys.com and ebags.com) in order to increase profitability.

 

·         Drive day-to-day relationships with third party accounts.

 

·         Aggressively grow current accounts and open new, third party on-line accounts.

 

·         Coordinate with internal departments to ensure new accounts are set up and integrated effectively.

 

 

·         Build strong internal relationships with IT, operations and marketing in order to get support on all e-commerce related initiatives.

 

·         Work with IT and marketing to create a compelling product and “branded” experience for the end consumer.  Optimize on-line navigation and other e-commerce related analytics (click-path, traffic, conversion, cross-sell and up-sell opportunities) to increase profitability.

 

·         Work with IT to improve overall marketing on the web like SEO strategies in order to increase on-line traffic.

 

 

 

Requirements:

 Ideal candidate has 4+ years experience in product management, merchandising and account management/sales with an online retailer. (Preferably in the fashion/accessories or consumer products industry.)

 Strong analytical and quantitative skills.

 Complete knowledge of products, margins, pricing, and operational procedures related to buying practices.

 Strong product knowledge, retail math and analytics.

 Online marketing experience preferred.

 Knowledge of e-commerce best practices and marketing methodologies.

 Experience in forging new business opportunities.

 Must be able to perform successfully in a lean and entrepreneurial environment.

 Able to rapidly expand and e-commerce business (which includes 3rd party e-commerce relationships.)

 Able to react and effectively support special business needs as they arise.

 Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

 Proven ability to juggle multiple priorities and to quickly understand the internal, cross functional needs of the e-commerce business.

 4 year college degree required.

 Experience working with CoreSense and PeopleSoft applications is a plus.
