TechTarget is seeking an entry level Java Software Developer to join our development team. In this role, the developer will enhance and maintain existing J2EE applications and develop new applications and site features. This developer will be particularly focused on front end technologies, building rich internet applications with AJAX technology.  Job requires a good understanding of the full software lifecycle, including functional requirement gathering, design, develop and test software applications, documenting requirements and technical specifications. This is an excellent opportunity for a recent computer science or information systems graduate, with limited internship or professional experience.

 

Essential Job Functions:

 

• Full life cycle development from initial requirements through production deployment; and,

• Interaction with business users, project managers and QA;

 

Knowledge, skills and abilities required:

 

• Knowledge of core Java, and web page creation with Java Servlets, JSP, HTML, and JavaScript is required;

• Effective written and verbal communications skills;

• Effective team member; and

• Ability to work in a fast paced environment.

 

Prefer candidates with:

 

• Hands on web development using  MVC, templating languages and application frameworks including Struts2, Spring, FreeMarker, and JSP taglibs;

• Experience implementing AJAX features within J2EE web applications, using JQuery, Script.aculo.us, DOJO or similar frameworks;

• Familiar with relational databases, and SQL; and

• Experience working with Unix/Linux platforms.
