We invite you to review the position requirements below and apply today if your skills match our need.  Position Type: Direct HireLocation:  Carlsbad, CA  The software engineer is a member of the R&D software team developing embedded software that for critical care medical devices. Using industry standard software development processes the software engineer will design, develop, implement and test software solutions for controlling and monitoring medical devices. Works closely with hardware engineers and participates in requirements definition, risk analysis and code reviews. Product development complies with FDA Quality System regulation and other regulatory and international standards. Job Description •Participates as a member of software project or sub-project team(s) to develop software applications to meet high level requirements in accordance with defined development procedures. •Translates requirements/specifications into design, and ultimately software, using design controls and good coding practices •Maintains trace-ability of requirements through software specifications and designs •May participate in other software activities, such as performing hazard and risk analysis, reviews of designs and tests. Requirements/Qualifications: •BSEE/CS or equivalent •3 to 5 years in embedded development and real-time applications •Experience with real time operating systems (RTOS) required •Experience with ANSI C, knowledge and experience with C++ and object oriented design desired. •Candidate should be knowledgeable and have experience in software engineering processes and software life-cycle in general. •Medical instrument development experiences a plus. •Experience with a documented software development process or familiarity with FDA and ISO standards is a plus.  With more than 10,000 IT consultants, MODIS has expertise in virtually all technology disciplines.
