HELP DESK AGENT / SUPPORT TECHNICIAN

Job Title: Help Desk Agent

 

Hours:Monday – Friday 9:00 AM – 5:30 PM

 

Location:Corporate Office, Oradell, N.J.

 

Travel:At times

 

Experience:  4 years in the IT field

 

 

The Huntington Learning Center's Information Technology Department has an opportunity to add a new Help Desk Agent / Support Technician to the team.  Candidates must have commitment to the business, and possess a thorough knowledge of Information Systems. 

 

Responsibilities are assigned by your manager and include the following:



· Serve as liaison between staff and the technology department to resolve issues

· Troubleshoot issues in proprietary software, telephony, other IT projects

· Troubleshoot pc issues, such as printing, email, internet issues

o Able to install software as per documentation

o Able to lift computer equipment, such a printers, pc, monitors

o Able to deploy routers and internet routers

· Coordinate with other I.T. resources to resolve problems

· Configure new computers

· Configure new printer for local and networking installations

· Configure pc for email use

· Troubleshoot hardware and software with vendors

· Coordinate with various vendors for hardware install or troubleshooting

· Determine source of computer problems (hardware, software, user access, etc.).

· Advise staff on appropriate action.

· Document resolutions for future reference.

· Manage Help Desk ticket system

· Manage all cell phones and PDA devices

· Track phone costs for the entire company.

· Perform hardware and software installations.

· Provide on-the-job training to new department staff members.

· Other duties as assigned

 

Requirements / Characteristics of the successful candidate include:

· Bachelor’s Degree Computer Science, or another related field.

· Excellent written and oral communication skills.

· Experience in Windows 2000 and higher

· Experience in Office Suites 2003 and higher

· Experience in setting up of peripherals – printers, faxes and scanners

 

 

The Help Desk Agent will work with and report to the Director of IT.
