General Job Summary
Responsible for providing HR Generalist support including, but not limited to performance management and reviews, compensation and benefits planning, compliance, recordkeeping and reporting, training, job description review, new employee orientation, employment and employee communication. Interpret and consistently apply company policies and procedures, provide direction on employee relations issues. Provide support to facility management function.
Job Responsibilities
Interview candidates for open positions and recommend them for further consideration.Complete and distribute orientation outline prior to hire date with hiring manager approval.Coordinate pre-employment testing.Conduct new hire and benefits orientation sessions. Create customized new hire orientation plans beyond first day on-boarding. Follow up on effectiveness, recommendations.Assist in employee engagement and communications: handling employee queries, explaining various policies, strategies and benefits to employees. Provide follow-up on employee issues and suggestions so they are properly acted upon. Assist in implementing communication vehicles such as SharePoint, company meetings, satisfaction surveys, other forums.Provide guidance to managers in preparing performance improvement plans, disciplinary action, and terminations. Conduct exit interviews and provide summary reporting.Investigate employee related complaints - work with management team on fact finding and documentation of complaints; make recommendation for corrective action; maintain all documentation related to these issuesConduct job analysis and job evaluation. Provide compensation counseling and support to line management for the administration of the annual compensation review process, developmental increases, position descriptions, and job evaluation; identify and resolve internal equity issues.Complete job descriptions for new positions; ensure review and update of existing job descriptions. Stay current on FLSA requirements and recommend reviews.Support managers in the performance management process. Review and monitor consistency and quality of performance evaluations to ensure appropriateness and consistent application.Verify group monthly participation including benefits enrollees, COBRA, vehicle reimbursement program, etc.Work with HR team on salary and benefits surveys, competitive analysis, recommendationsResearch, recommend, plan and implement employee services, i.e. recreation and events to enhance employee morale, retention and productivity. Coordinate and assist in safety and health matters to reduce possibility of accidents and/or injuries. Ensure programs are carried out and in compliance with applicable laws and regulations. Implement and maintain recordkeeping and coordinate efforts with HR Manager, Worker’s Compensation carrier.Investigate work related accidents and injuries to improve safety. Initiate and follow-through on accident reports, insurance claims, Worker’s Compensation, FMLA, etc.Maintain compliance in recordkeeping, postings and audits. Generate HR reporting on a scheduled basis.Plan and schedule training including diversity, new employees, on the job training, team building. Ensure training evaluations are completed, collected and summarized. Coordinate training activities and maintain documentation.
Required Skills, Attributes & Education
Bachelor’s degree or 4+ years of related experience.Must demonstrate the ability to multitask and maintain flexibility and professionalism as changing business situations arise.Able to interact and conduct business in a professional manner with various levels of management internally and externally.Decision making skills driven by “what is the right thing to do?”A strong work ethic centered on a can do attitude.A sense of urgency.
