About Fox Interactive Media:Fox Interactive Media (FIM), a division of News Corporation, is seeking a Quality Assurance Engineer to work on a series of dynamic and innovative projects in a rapidly evolving environment. The FIM Platform Team provides top-tier solutions to complex challenges in support of major initiatives in the areas of Social Networking, Entertainment, Sports and News.Current projects include:• Enterprise-wide data collection system• Global user segmentation system• Ad serving system• Integrated data analytics system to report performance across all of FIM’s online properties• Integration of current social software (RSS, Blogs, Podcasting, User-Generated Video)• Internal integration of tools such as bug tracking, enterprise wiki, and document repository.• Exploration of future technologiesJob Description: Quality Assurance Engineer position will work closely with the product and development teams to review requirements and ensure that developed products are working correctly and are error free. Duties include:• Responsible for creation and execution of test cases on staging and production environments.• Document and communicate issues, risks and concerns to stakeholders, developers, sponsors.• Collaborate closely with product, project and development teams to identify and resolve technical, business, and process related issues.Skills & Qualifications:• Bachelors Degree• Should have 2 to 5 years of web testing experience. • SQL proficiency (introductory to intermediate level)• Basic understanding of object oriented programming concepts• Good understanding of web UI, browser based testing. • Must be proficient in black box testing methodologies.• Familiarity with white/grey box testing (JUnit, NUnit, automation frameworks).• Excellent communication skills with emphasis on writing. • Detailed oriented. • Familiarity with Performance testing and benchmarking concepts.• Able to work on multiple projects and on a flexible schedule. • Able to work in an agile development environment.Preferences • Familiarity with web advertisement networks. Candidate should have an understanding of the ad lifecycle. • Experience in Linux environment (shell navigation, file creation, common utilities, etc).• Familiarity with clustered computing, distributed and parallel computing concepts.• Familiarity with basic Internet concepts (http, html, client / server model, GET, POST, request / response, etc…). Candidates should be prepared to provide a thoughtful answer to the question: “How does the Internet work?”.• Familiarity with HTML and client-side web scripting languages such as Javascript. Candidates should have an understanding of how web technologies fit together.• Knowledge of Web 2.0 tools and technologies.
