Internet Application Engineer

 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

§ As a member of the Application Engineering team, you will be responsible for:

§ Ensuring the reliability of the application serving platform.

§ Providing support for server software including, but not limited to, Windows 2000/2003, SQL 2000/2005, IIS 6 & 7, Cisco networking devices.

§ Problem solving and troubleshooting for the Windows networking environment and related applications.

§ Functional test planning and testing for the Windows networking environment and related applications.

§ Researching and implementing new technologies to improve the Windows networking environment.

§ Ensuring that servers, applications and other system devices meet proper performance and capacity standards.

Knowledge, Skills, &Abilities Required


§ 3-5 years of Windows Administration/Engineering experience in a professional environment

§ 3-5years experience working with Windows server 2000/2003.

§ Strong working knowledge of IIS

§ Experience managing web applications in IIS with a SQL server backend.

§ Working knowledge of Microsoft SQL tools, writing queries and maintaining server data files/maintenance plans.

§ 2-4 years experience working with Cisco IOS and networking devices

§ Windows server and TCP/IP expertise is required.

§ Excellent communication skills are a must.

§ Superior troubleshooting ability with a high aptitude for problem solving.

§ Must be able to follow detailed instructions and procedures for speedy problem resolution and to ensure quality control of system configurations.

§ Must be a self-starter with the ability to work alone and independently prioritize tasks.

§  Team player who must be able to work with other IT departments, internal customers and external partners.

§ Have excellent written and verbal communication skills.

§ VBscript and WMI scripting is a plus for this.
