Our mission is to develop easy-to-use online sites and portals for users to gain value from the content and services offered. Due to growth, we are currently looking to hire for a hands-on VP of Engineering/LAMP SW Architect to oversee and drive development of our core web properties and management of our internal and external, off-shore development team. Because we are a small company, the ideal candidate must be a strong hands-on developer that can lead by example, yet still manage. This position is perfect for someone that is looking to take the next step up from a Lead Developer/SW Architect role and into more management position. You will report directly to the the CEO.Required Experience / Skills: 1.) 5+ years in web development (Linux, Apache, MySQL, PHP) and expert-level use of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and AJAX.2.) Business experience including management-level experience in a small .COM or startup company. 3.) Demonstrated success with high volume web sites (500,000+ users, multi-server, tiered architecture, etc.). 4.) Experience with Joomla and/or V-Bulletin is highly preferred.5.) Superior organizational, interpersonal and communication skills. Collaborative working style. 5.) Understanding of online financial transactions, E-Commerce applications and security issues. Nice to Have Skills: 1.) Web 2.0 experience, Mambo, MVC. 2.) Awareness of visual design, usability issues, user behavior. 3.) Linux and MySQL Administration experience. 4.) Experience with subscription-based services, Online Marketing, Affiliate Marketing, Search Engine Optimization.This is an exciting fast paced start-up environment!
