Lead Scientist, Director/VP

Publicly traded Internet Company seeks a Lead Scientist of outstanding algorithmic and technical intellect with 7+ years of experience in applying advanced algorithmic game theory, auctions, and machine learning theories to solve high impact problems in industry.  The right candidate also has experience in a number of areas including multi-attribute auctions, 2-sided matchings, search, data mining, and stochastic optimization. You must have successful experience turning complex designs into prototype or production software in environments with large datasets of structured and unstructured data.

 

The Lead Scientist is a recognized leader in his/her field, has proven execution skills and an interest in and passion for building cutting edge technology products.  This person excels in working in a fast paced environment - both managing and leading cross functionally. The ideal candidate embraces new challenges and aggressive delivery dates.

 Responsibilities

· Manage an elite high-impact technology team that develops and maintains the business monetization systems including yield management, purchased traffic optimization, and ad network inventory and profit optimization

· Provide leadership and detailed algorithmic and technical design guidance on new features and functional specifications for these systems with success measured by quantifiable impacts on site metrics including user generated revenue, profit, and balk

 Skills/Qualifications

· 4+ years of technology management or leadership experience

· 7+ years industry experience

· Strong focus on algorithm design, algorithmic game theory and combinatorial optimization

· Strong data mining and statistical/machine learning skills

· Matlab, Perl, and Java programming experience

· RDBMS/SQL experience

· Proven ability to design and develop high-performance, reliable, mission-critical systems

· Advanced degree in Math/Computer Science required

· Team player with the ability to inspire

· Self-starter who embraces new challenges with great enthusiasm

· Desire to innovate and charter new territories

· Excellent interpersonal skills communication skills
