Linux Administrator

Summary:Experian Interactive Media is seeking a Linux Administrator to join the Web Operations team which supports the enterprise computing environment. This position’s main focus is to provide 24x7x365 support for the production web environments which is based on the Linux, AIX and Solaris operating systems. This position will also be responsible for managing releases from testing environments to the live production systems, configuring application settings for JBoss, Apache, and other technologies. Setting up system monitors to measure the health of the applications and servers. Develop and manage the patch deployment process.Responsibilities: • Setup of new servers based on the Linux, AIX and Solaris OS • Performance tuning and Monitoring of Servers and Services • Troubleshooting and issue resolution • Server and Kernel compilation and configuration • Application installation and configuration • Working with various departments to determine hardware/software requirements • Documentation of configurations and changes • Creation and maintenance of standard operating procedures (SOP) • Work with application engineering, qa, and PMO teams to ensure the success of all production ready application and projects. • Ensures that operation-based projects and initiatives are delivered on-time and with exceptional quality. • Develop and manage patch deployment process. Skills: • Linux/Unix server administration. • Strong knowledge of JBoss, Apache, and Java installation/configuration. • Knowledge of Change Management • EMC SAN/NAS • Operations Best Practices • Server and application patch management • Strong communication skills with the ability to communicate technical issues to non-technical people.
