Position Summary:

The Linux Systems Administrator must have an extensive Internet background, advanced knowledge of FTP, HTML, UNIX, Linux (preferably RedHat), at least one scripting language (Bash, Perl, Python, etc.), network fundamentals (TCP/IP, static routing, switches, etc.), UNIX-based internet services (BIND, Sendmail, Apache, etc.), and standard data security procedures and practices. This person will generally receive their duties from the Hosting Systems Manager of WestHost.

 

Essential Functions:

· Assist with routine maintenance tasks in relation to the servers and network infrastructure.

· Assist in maintaining DNS zones and records.

· Assist with the administration of the servers and network infrastructure.

· Assist with the building of automated tools to help the IT Department perform their

duties more efficiently.

· Assist WestHost clients with escalated support requests.

· Assist with training and skill building of WestHost’s Technical Support team.

· Stay informed of new developments and trends in the web hosting industry.

Salary and Benefits:

Salary is BOE.  Benefits include: medical and dental insurance, automatic 3% employer contribution into 401(k) retirement plan, and over 3 weeks of paid time off in the first year.
