Manager, Buyer Trust Marketing

Description:In 2007, buyers purchased billions of dollars worth of goods on eBay.com in the US, in most cases from sellers they had never met. Each of these buyers trusted the seller would deliver the product as described and on time. Building trust between members is critical for eBay’s continued growth, and the Manager, Buyer Trust Marketing will help manage this initiative in the US. This person will be responsible for achieving several critical objectives for the business: educating and empowering users so that they can shop (and sell safely) on the eBay marketplace; increasing user awareness of the steps eBay is taking to reduce bad experiences; and improving user and non-user perceptions of the safety of shopping on eBay. This person will need to work with the brand group and eBay teams in other countries to define the eBay trust proposition. They will need to develop and execute a trust marketing strategy that will likely leverage PR, industry and government partnerships, eBay community announcements and events, email and onsite marketing, and site content and messaging. The Manager, Buyer Trust Marketing will also work closely with counterparts in PayPal to manage buyer protection in the US.
