 Media Buyer/ Planner, Req #046-08

 

Position Statement:

 

Responsible for designing and implementing media plans to ensure effective utilization of the Company’s contracted gross rating points (GRP’s) with our local TV station partners.  Supports sales and business development functions. 

 

Essential Functions:

Performs media buys to support sales and business development.  Plans media, working closely with sales, BD, and TV production group to support media objectives and strategies.Demonstrates superior understanding of media processes and knowledge of research capabilities and applications.Takes initiative to research current Media theories and other relevant research.Effectively manages budgets throughout the executioner phase; actively participates to ensure that inputting deadlines are met, reports are issued, goals are achieved and post-evaluations are released all in a timely and accurate manner.Works closely with TV production group on media projects in order to produce the highest quality product within deadline, maximizing the efficiency and productivity of the group.

Qualifications & Competencies (Knowledge, Skills & Abilities) Required:Four-year degree in Marketing, Advertising or Business required.2-5 years related advertising agency experience required, including negotiating media buys on behalf of the client.Creative thinker who can quickly develop innovative ideas across a wide variety of businesses.Outstanding relationship building skills with the ability to create mutually beneficial relationships with both internal and external clients is critical.Must have good communication skills, with the ability to articulate design concepts to a variety of audiences.Must be proficient in Microsoft Office 2000 applications.Strong ability to multi-task and prioritize multiple projects and requests simultaneously, within an intense, deadline-driven environment.Well organized with a high attention to detail.Ability to work quickly in a fast-paced, environment with frequent interruptions.Ability to collaborate in a team environment.Ability to coordinate with other departments (Business Development, Editorial, Sales, Technical) to complete projects on time.Prior experience working within a technology organization, preferably an Internet company.Strong knowledge and familiarity with the Internet.
