Operations Manager – Mobile Operations PLEASE FORWARD ALL RESUMES TO:  baburns@verisign.com  SUMMARY: The successful candidate is an experienced, hands-on manager to organize a 24x7 systems administration team.  This individual will manage the day-to-day activities of 6-8+ individuals within the Digital Content and Messages Services (DCMS) business unit and will report to the Director of Production Services.  The individual must demonstrate strong analytical skills and the ability to lead a team of technical professionals in managing the areas of real time messaging, content distribution, and billing systems while meeting service level targets.  To be successful, the Operations Manager will maintain a strong team, establish and maintain best practices, and identify opportunities to streamline and automate activities.  The role also requires the ability to make individual contributions on a regular basis to the support and ongoing availability of the platform, including managing the data center vendor relationship and participating in product upgrades.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Lead and develop personnel responsible for 7x24 activities by establishing and managing schedules, mentoring individuals, and measuring against defined metrics Establish and maintain all work group practices and procedures to insure operational excellence and service scalability Define work priorities, facilitate and improve communication processes between Engineering, Product Management, Client Management, Professional Services, and Production Services teams Oversee the integration of product releases, identify requirements, and enable staff to achieve goals Work with product management and engineering to ensure product releases include features that support the availability of the product Help troubleshoot problems across multiple applications including Messaging, Media, and Interactive Messaging products and across multiple operating environments Coordinate and provide sign-off on data center upgrades or equipment moves Coordinating flow of work across shifts to ensure objectives are achieved Consult with team concerning problems such as equipment performance, output quality, maintenance schedules and service levels Responsibility for direct reports including but not limited to performance management, employee relations, vacation scheduling/approval, timesheets, policy administrationQUALIFICATIONS: Must have proven knowledge in the following areas· Understands queuing, UNIX tools, networking, monitoring, internet services Experience Required: 5-7 years related experience including lead or supervisory roles 5+ years of experience working in a multi-tenant hosted environment Demonstrated problem solving, communication and leadership skills Working knowledge of Linux, networking and data center operation College degree in Computer Science or Management Information Systems or equivalent combination of experience and education Real time messaging experience is a plus
