PHP Developer

iContact is a four-year old venture-backed 80 person company based in Durham, NC, that provides on-demand software that makes online communication easy. The iContact product is the leading email marketing and online communications platform used by over 17,000 companies worldwide ranging from small businesses to blue chip clients like International Paper, Ford, Bank of America, Super 8 Motel, Symantec, Re/Max, United Colors of Benetton, Nissan, and LG Electronics.

 

The company is seeking an experienced PHP Developer who is skilled using object-oriented design and programming. The ideal candidate will possess the following: prior experience with working on web-based applications; strong team and individual work skills; previous experience with applications using SQL to store/retrieve data from a DBMS; experience finding and fixing bugs; excellent prioritization, analytical, and written and oral communication skills; Computer Science (or related) degree.

 

Additional desired skills: PHP; MySQL; HTML; JavaScript; CSS; AJAX; unit testing; test-driven development; design patterns; database indexing, joining, and optimization; Linux development platform/environment; Subversion.

Responsibilities include:Working in collaboration with other developers to meet our product cycle updatesIntroducing new features into existing softwareImproving the code base and techniques currently being usedTaking part in new product development - from planning to development to deploymentTaking on challenging development tasks required for upcoming productsAssisting in developing an enterprise-scale email software productEnsuring software security, reliability, and scalability
