OPENLANE is looking for someone with a Systems Analyst or Business Analyst background who is interested in moving into a Product Management role.

OPENLANE is the leading online wholesale marketplace for used vehicles in North America.  The wholesale used car marketplace connects businesses that are sellers of used vehicles (such as manufacturers, leasing companies, rental companies, corporate fleets and automotive dealers) with businesses that are buyers of used vehicles (automotive dealers).  It is a very large market, with over 23 million wholesale transactions, valued at cover $200 billion annually. 

OPENLANE has been in business since 1999 and has grown rapidly to become the leading provider of online remarketing services to the wholesale used car industry.  Our customers include many of the largest companies in the industry, including, amongst others, Ford, Chrysler, VW/Audi, Honda, Nissan/Infiniti, Avis Budget Group, GE Capital and Chase Automotive Finance.  We have over 30,000 automotive dealers registered and using our technology to source used vehicle inventory for their dealerships in the United Statesand Canada.

OPENLANE is headquartered in Menlo Park, CA with significant offices in Mesa, AZ and Toronto, Ont.  The company is pre-IPO, has over 400 employees and is growing fast.

The Product Management team is responsible for product planning and execution throughout the product lifecycle, including: gathering and prioritizing product and customer requirements, defining the product vision, and working closely with engineering, sales, marketing and support to ensure revenue and customer satisfaction goals are met.

Core Responsibilities:“Owning” a part of the product feature set for the business line to which the PM is assignedEstablishing short and long term product goals and strategiesManaging the entire product life cycle from conception to development to releaseInitiating and prioritizing projects within Engineering and QA, tracking product development, and developing launch plansActing as the voice of the customer in all interaction with EngineeringDocumenting clear, concise product specifications

Qualifications:Four years experience (preferably Internet or Enterprise Software) as a Systems Analyst or Business AnalystA passion for writing product specifications (writing samples may be requested)Experience in transforming business requirements into product requirements documents  Experience in web technology (FTP, JSP, Web Services, XML, etc) Bachelors degree in a related field, MBA a plus Experience with Agile development methodologies (XP, Scrum) a plus Experience working towards Sarbanes-Oxley compliance a plus
