QA Manager

Position Description:

We are looking for a top-notch QA Manager whose primary responsibility includes designing and developing new versions of Rhapsody.Must have been an SDET and/or developer in order to apply for this roleYou're a technical, results oriented individual with strong QA background to head a rapidly growing team of SDETs. This candidate should have experience leading small to medium automation engineers in an agile, distributed, scalable and multi-tiered SOA based application environment. This individual will manage the success of all software-testing activities for projects that live on high-availability and high-scalability environments. This manager must work collaboratively with other managers to shape the growth and direction of the software engineering organization and provide direction and goals for meeting software quality objectives.*Qualifications:*Hands on QA Manager 60% Management 40% Testing7+ years in the software industry, including hands-on software development experience and strong program/project management skills.Minimum of 3 years experience managing/leading software testing teams of at least 6 testers.2+ years working with high-volume, large-scale applications.Proven ability to attract, recruit and retain top-notch talent.Track record in releasing successful software products to production/market.Excellent written and verbal communications skills.Must be proactive, great attention to detail, results-oriented and ability to meet aggressive deadlines.Must possess strong leadership skills to guide and motivate team while managing multiple projects.Must have prior experience of working in a cross-matrixed organizationMust posses ability to manage multiple priorities in time-sensitive situations.Ability to self-manage.Comfortable with ambiguity and able to work through it to get the right things done.Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or related subject area required.Demonstrated knowledge of load, stress, performance and memory testing tools. Working on maintaining and testing the current build system (which builds rhapsody.com web applications)• Setting up QA servers which includes installing linux, tomcat and configuring apache• Development of automated script for site monitoring on 24/7 basis and configuring automated email notification during downtime. (Shell script and crontab)• Developments of graphical representation of the performance of each build using php graph modules. (Php, mysql, javascript)• Development of Diff tool to generate a report showing the difference in the pages during different build.
