Quality Assurance Engineer - Operations

The Quality Assurance Engineer - Operations is responsible for QA and testing tasks involved in the operations group with an emphasis on technology, validation and automation.  This work requires intimate knowledge of regression testing of an entire system or platform, strong OS experience, including IIS settings, very strong SQL query skills and a good understanding of networking in an enterprise environment.  Plus, the ability to develop quality assurance standards, track quality assurance metrics, such as defect densities and open defect counts.

Responsibilities:

 Execute manual and automated test cases and document defects.Create test cases that provide complete coverage of the operation project requirements.Review peer’s test designs and provide feedback to the Configuration Manager.Troubleshoot issues or defects and write documentation covering them.Perform code or schema reviews and tune SQL queries.Understanding of SQL Server security and DTS Packages.Provide weekly status reports and communicate them to the appropriate people.

 

.Requirements:

 4+ years of experience using QA and functional/structural testing techniques.Experience working with C++, C#, HTML and XML.  Experience developing SQL and RDBMS concepts.  Experience testing Web applications, Web services, XML and .NET technology.Knowledge of n-tiered Web and application server technology.Knowledge of best practices relating to QA, Development and Database applications.Understanding of Microsoft Windows Server 2000 and 2003. Experience testing financial or e-commerce Web applications is a plus. BS degree in Computer Science, IS or other related field.
