Reporting and Data Analyst: T-SQL expert

Our client operates a highly targeted contextual marketing network that balances the interests of publishers, advertisers and users. This Network combines advanced contextual awareness technology with a large base of top tier publisher sites to create a highly effective advertising platform. They reasoned that if they developed technologies that target marketing messages properly, then marketing would become honed, applicable content. The end result is that the user appreciates the targeted content, the advertiser has a significantly improved return on investment, and the publisher shows higher quality better paying ads. This is an ideal position for a T-SQL guru that can’t stand for technology to be stale. This is not a good place for back-stabbing, politics or anything but focusing on getting the job done right.  This organization is very flat and doesn’t plan to have lot of “non-working” management layers.

This position is based in their Fort Lauderdale, Florida, office directly reporting to the Director of Data Services.

Summary:

 

* Maintain the data warehouse and reporting system

 

* Perform and maintain data analysis using T-SQL, reporting tools, MS Excel, and other similar products

 

* Improve and streamline data and associated systems

 

* Ensure the reliability, performance, and scalability of the DW and reporting system

 

* Document their work

 

 

 

In this position the person will implement and support critical reporting and data management projects. The ideal candidate will possess superior intellect and interpersonal skills along with prior experience developing reports and analyzing results with data from SQL Server 2005 databases.

 

Required Technical Skills:

 

* 4+ years professional experience with data analysis and reporting, and a desire to continue in the field.

 

* 3+ years of recent, full-time, hands-on experience with MS SQL Server 2005/2008.

 

* 2+ years experience in OLAP, MOLAP, ROLAP and HOLAP implementations

 

* Comfortable working with SQL Server, T-SQL procedures and queries, SSIS or DTS, ETL, etc.

 

* VERY strong SQL skills for extracting data for reporting and analysis.

 

* SQL Server Reporting Services or Crystal reports or equivalent, for creating finished reports.

 

* Experience with creating basic reports and charts from an OLEDB/ODBC back-end database system using MS Excel.

 

* Working knowledge of ASP.NET and C# desirable.

 

* Good systems development/operations experience, to help understand how the applications are using SQL, how data can be transferred between applications, how data is reported, how the applications are implemented, etc.

 

* Great analytical and problem solving skills.

 

* Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

 

Education Requirements:

 

* Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Math, Statistics, or equivalent

 

The final candidate will be required to take and pass a written T-SQL and reporting test.
