GENERAL SUMMARY:   Seeking an Information Technology (IT) candidate to be the primary individual responsible for the release management of software applications created by a team of professional system developers.    Responsible for maintaining a tightly configured release strategy to ensure software code created in development rolls properly to test and is maintainable with little or no intervention by the code developer, in production. Candidate must have the ability to lead software release initiatives through the full development life cycle, including requirements and design review, managing test resources, test planning, test execution, and release management.  Headquartered in McLean, VA, LMI is a not-for-profit government consulting firm dedicated to improving public sector management.   PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:  Reports directly to the Program Manager, Systems Development (SD) group’s Infrastructure Team lead and interfaces with all levels of SD team members and management Participate as a member of the technical team to implement the technology vision, strategies and priorities of the organization Lead the design and improvement of LMI’s deployment and release processes Responsible to follow best practices and implement effective processes for  reliable, high-quality IT service delivery Perform impact/risk assessments for requested upgrades Maintain documentation and procedures to ensure adherence to corporate, federal and DoD policies and regulations   KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:  Bachelor’s degree in information systems management, computer science, or related disciplines Desired work experience: 5+ years of experience in information technology 3+ years of working as part of a technical team 1+ years of working as a release managerProven experience with SQL Server administration, certification preferable Knowledge of Microsoft software development tools and Internet Information Server (IIS) required, certification in any Microsoft technical discipline very desirable Must be able to obtain Secret Clearance Knowledge of ITIL Must be able to effectively manage simultaneous tasks on several projects with independent deadlines and deliverables Problem solver with initiative and creativity Excellent interpersonal skills including the ability to work collaboratively Excellent written and oral communication skills Excellent attention to detail Must be self-directed and a team player   Applicants selected for this position may be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
