Safety Specialist - Lewisberry, PA Job Posting:  Safety SpecialistReports To: Regional Safety ManagerLocation: Lewisberry, PAJob Description: This position requires an individual that will be responsible for the proactive, day to day, support of the Amazon.com Safety program.  The candidate must be able to understand and enthusiastically engage in numerous safety issues with associates, temps, managers and visitors. The candidate must be able to enforce the safety rules and regulations of the company in such a professional manner that will eliminate immediate hazards and prevent future safety incidents by positively affecting the behaviors of others. The candidate will be able to communicate, both written and orally, to correct violations and to promote the program of safety awareness. This position is an hourly role, with tactical and strategic responsibility for the safety of the facility.  Monitor the workplace to ensure compliance with Company Safety policy, State and/or Federal Laws, to provide a safe and secure workplace for employees, visitors, vendors, and guests. Provide (or facilitate access to) immediate aid for associates, visitors, vendors, or guests that need assistance, or medical attention. Follow up on the progress of supervisors incident investigations. Enter Safety Incident Information in Metrics database in a timely manner. Perform Safety Observations & Audits. Train and assist others (Area Managers, Safety Team Members, etc) to complete their Safety responsibilities (Audits, Follow Safety Rules, etc). Perform Specific Safety Training as required by the Safety Manager. Be a leader in customer service, involving issues of Safety. Respond to situations, as they arise, based on direction from the Safety Manager.  Educational achievements will be considered and can be used in conjunction with experience. Candidate must be experienced in emergency response and able to maintain current First aid and CPR certificates. Must be able maintain confidentiality in matters involving security and/or personnel issues. Must be able to work any shift or hours that maybe required.
