Sales Engineer IV

VeriSign is currently seeking a Sales Engineer to support its communications group.The successful candidate will: interact with Sales Team to drive specific sales in their area of domain expertise; establish strategies for proposing, pricing, and closing these solutions in the accounts; and, assist sales representatives in strengthening their service and product knowledge.Responsibilities include: Establishing a technical relationship with key customer contacts Leading Technical Solution Development Assisting customers in their evaluation of VeriSign products and services Participating in proposal development and coordination Project Transition to Delivery Acting as the Product Liaison Preferred Experience and Education: BS degree in Telecom, Engineering, Computer Science, or Business Greater than 10 years experience building solutions to support Carriers. The candidate must have the ability to listen well, to integrate disparate information into a cohesive set of ideas and solutions, and be able to present those ideas articulately, adapting style to the audience. Project management experience is important.  A proven track record of supporting sales and customers is critical.  Product management or development experience is especially valued.  Proficient personal computer skills with PowerPoint, financial analysis, Visio, project management tools are necessary. Technical certifications preferred (e.g. CISSP and/or CISM), but not required Be able and willing to travel 50% to 75% of the time for client facing work The successful candidate must have: A strong background in Telecommunications that align with VeriSign Communications business with experience in consultative selling approaches, supporting, and engineering Communications products such as SS7 core network design and routing principals for Mobility/Broandband networks, IP networking, Voice over IP (VoIP), and telephony networking.  Demonstrated understanding of network operations and support systems.  Exposure to major switch, STP, SCP, and NextGen (IMS) vendors.  Strong technical understanding of mobile networks - Cellular, PCS, mobile data networks. Knowledgeable in areas of Network Services such as Signaling Transport, Trunk Signaling (ISUP), CLASS services, and Connectivity.  Knowledge in areas of Database Services such as Toll-free, Calling Name, Number Portability requirements and industry impacts, and Intelligent Networking (IN, AIN, WIN, CAMEL). Exposure to Voice over IP (VoIP), IP Multi-media Subsystem (IMS) evolution principles, ENUM, and Session Initial Protocol (SIP) would be beneficial.  A  VeriSign  Solutions Architect must be an individual who reflects our Core Values of Respect, Accountability, Passion, Integrity and Drive.
