Search Engine Optimization Analyst The individual in this role will analyze, optimize and report on natural search performance for a leading online travel portal. This role is also responsible for keeping up-to-date with the latest trends in the search engine world. Responsibilities: Site Assessments: Help provide analysis of websites from an SEO best practices perspective which will include but is not limited to: copy, site architecture, and keyword selection/utilization. Also make ongoing assessments of current SEO KPIs such as: quality and number of inbound links, pages indexed and URL and linking structures.SEO Strategy: Assist team with recommendations on how to improve rankings and traffic for our sites using information obtained from site assessments as well as keyword research, experience, pages indexed, webmaster tools, current data sets and industry research. Make strategic and tactical recommendations for the direction and implementation of our sites’ ongoing and future development. Reporting/Analysis: using different analytics tools (including but not limited to: Excel, Access, web analytics software and web position monitoring tools), this person will review data and then help design reports that are actionable and easy to understand. Additionally, the candidate will conduct web site analyses using various technologies (training will be provided) on results of the SEO trends for the business including daily, weekly and monthly reporting. Reports should be actionable and easy to understand. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree, Marketing and/or Computer Science Degree preferred Excellent writing and verbal skills, command of the English language Minimum of 2 years experience in search engine marketing with emphasis in natural search Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and the use of pivot tables, tracking and analytics. Proficiency with MS Access a mustAlso: Prior Web Anlayst experience Works well in both a team environment and independently. Solid understanding of search engine spider behavior, including enough familiarity with HTML, CSS, JavaScript or similar programming to understand how it impacts the way spiders see a page. Thorough knowledge of the Internet and how search engines provide results Strong understanding of website development techniques, SEO tools, and site analytics principles. Must be knowledgeable of and practice ethical SEO techniques and thereby have concern and respect for the business. Must have a passion for online marketing!
