The Opportunity:

An SEO Manager will manage and coordinate the SEO efforts at Classmates. The successful candidate will be able to drive strategy, offer recommendations, and assist in the deployment of projects, including site and data analysis as required. He or she will track key performance indicators from internal and external monitors to improve site positioning/ranking/indexing and customization. The ideal candidate should have a strong working knowledge of Web technology, SEO techniques, and online marketing. Additionally, the SEO Specialist will be called upon to perform or oversee SEO copywriting and technical writing. The candidate will be required to coordinate SEO activities with external agencies, as needed. Excellent computer, Internet, and SEO skills and techniques are hallmarks of a successful candidate. The SEO Manager must be able to perform each essential duty of the job and accept special projects as assigned. Duties would include but not be limited to:



Search Engine Optimization - Optimize Classmates pages for search engines: data, HTML, site structure, and page content issues; research and resolve link architecture, content and indexing issues; build quality link partners; build strategies for increasing traffic through organic search listings; research how search engines and their spiders work and report key developments and news; build best practices documentation to ensure efficient and accurate implementation of white-hat search optimization strategies; direct creative execution of search pages that are both user- and search engine-friendly

Tracking and Reporting - Monitor organic search rankings to maximize traffic and conversions; analyze campaigns and translate anecdotal or qualitative data into recommendations and plans for revising the campaign; monitor competitive SEO activity, enhancements and performance

Keyword Research – Catalogue and index target keyword phrases, and refine keyword lists to drive qualified visitors

Copywriting - Compose or manage development of copy, and ensure copy meets both SEO and creative standards



The Job Requirements:

· 3+ years experience in search marketing

· 3+ years experience in marketing outside of search

· Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) in Information Science, Business, English, Journalism, Advertising, or Communications from four-year college or university

· Expert knowledge of SEO ranking, traffic and analysis trends and existing tools/software

· Strong understanding of pay-per-click advertising and affiliate marketing is desirable

· Self-starter approach to work, with an eagerness to consistently meet and exceed objectives and take on more responsibility.
