Senior Analyst, Consumer Testing

Description:Senior Analyst, Consumer TestingThe Senior Analyst, Consumer Testing will provide analytic support to understand and influence consumer choice of Credit Card vs. PayPal balance vs. bank account to fund their e-commerce purchase. Funding Mix is the most critical lever in driving PayPal profitability and this person will be a key member of the cross-functional team constituted to run all Funding Mix-related test initiatives. The primary responsibilities of this individual will be to: Experimental Setup, Design and Analysis: Work closely with business users and product managers to design, conduct and analyze consumer tests to understand and influence consumers’ choice of financial instrument used to fund PayPal transactionsExperimental design: specify the standards by which test subjects are selected to ensure that tests results are statistically significantData definition and collection: Ensure that the proper data is defined and collected for each test for downstream analysis purposesData analysis: Apply advanced statistics, data mining, and visualization techniques to help inform and support business and product decisions; demonstrated ability to provide timely analyses and surface what’s business relevantReporting: Develop reports and monitor the validity of the data being reportedTool development: Develop tools and techniques to automate processing of data into products in real-time that will help in business decision makingPresentation: Communicate complex concepts, the results of your analyses and resulting strategic priorities in a clear and effective manner to all levels of the organizationQualifications:- Willingness to join immediately- Demonstrated experience in setting up, conducting and analyzing consumer tests in one or more business verticals e.g. fast moving consumer goods, drug trials, hypothesis testing, A/B tests, “double-blind” psychology or biology experiments …- Strong knowledge of statistics and experimental design theory e.g. Student t-tests, etc.- Demonstrated experience in visualization and data analysis- Strong Experience in Matlab, SAS, Excel, Visual Basic and SQL- Strong Knowledge of relational databases and data warehouse principles, experience with Oracle and terradata a plus- Some knowledge of and ability to learn common scripting languages: sh, csh, perl, awk etc.- Experience in manipulation of large data sets, parallel programming and vector computations preferred- Masters or PhD degree in a quantitative discipline like Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, Statistics, Operations Research or Computer Science preferred; Bachelors with relevant expertise will be considered- Former domains: -  E-commerce and payments experience-  Former experimental scientists (biology, neuroscience, psychology, pharma) Salary/Benefits: Salary commensurate with experienceJob Location: San Jose, CAJob Number: RUSAEBAY22126-594026Company URL: http://www.ebaycareers.com Salary/Benefits: Salary commensurate with experience Job Location:  US-CA-Silicon Valley/San Jose Job Number:  26388BR Company URL:  http://www.ebaycareers.com
