Senior Database Engineer

As our Senior Database Engineer, you will:

• Work with Software Engineers in data modeling and database schema design.
• Design and implement scalable database solutions to support highly available OLTP applications, and high-load data warehouse systems.
• Construct schema DDL and maintain the scripts in version control system
• Participate in application architectural design and reviews, including contributing to technical design documentation.
• Trace and analyze application performance issues and address the issues originated from the database side.
• Define and document database design standards and mentor engineers on best practices and database feature usage.
• Design and facilitate database load tests.
• Automate database process and administration tasks.


Your qualifications include:

• 5+ years of software engineering experience using SQL, PL/SQL, or JDBC, building scalable database applications on UNIX or LINUX
• PL/SQL, SQL, Perl and shell scripting proficiency
• Excellent troubleshooting skills
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Database application tuning and troubleshooting
• Good organizational skills, able to mulit-task and handle heavy workload


Additional (desired) skills:

• Knowledge of Oracle RAC configuration and tuning
• Oracle Database Administration experience
• Experience with Sybase
